Spring Break

We headed down to glorious St. George for spring break this year.  We were sick and tired of the cold and snow so we high tailed it outta here!  We survived the trip down which is getting more and more challenging the older and more energetic Lucy gets. But we made it all in one piece and sane.  Which is saying a lot.

St. George did not disappoint. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I'm talking high 70's, low 80's. When we left Logan it was like in the 30's. What a difference.  Lucy found an absolute love for being outside.  I'm pretty sure she spent most of the time playing outside.  She had a rough first few days of being sick and we took her to the doctor to find out the poor thing had an ear infection! Her first one ever.  Poor little lamb.  She was so miserable for the first few days but once we got her some medication she bounced right back and loved life again.

St. George trips are far and in between and always go way too fast.  I miss that place...well more like I miss our families.  It's hard living up here with no family!

Here's some pictures from our trip! Enjoy!

We bit off the candy shell of a peanut m&m for her to try and I don't think she was too sure about it:

February...thus far.

February has been a pretty long month yet busy at the same time.  We celebrated Valentines Day & Brandon's Birthday all within a week of each other so that kept us on our toes! Lucy has been just as joyous as ever and always manages to entertain us.  Kids are so funny.  Seriously.  How did we ever entertain ourselves before she came along?

For Valentines day this year we had a pretty low key day.  We don't really ever go all out or anything so we just like to keep things simple.  He had to work a ton that day and was gone from 7 am until 6 pm so it was just mainly me and Lucy for the day.  We even had heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, along with everyone else in the world :) Lucy thought that was pretty neat.

Then when Brandon came home we had a surprise from Cupid himself and presents had been left on our doorstep!!  Imagine that.  Lucy was excited to open her present and even more thrilled when she saw it was a new Tinkerbell doll!  She's been watching the Tinkerbell movies lately and loves them so that was some big points earned for mom and dad...er, I mean, cupid.

Brandon got me a box of chocolates from the Blue Bird candy factory (so good!!) and I got him a bag filled with all his favorite candies.  All and all it turned out to be a great day! Yay for celebrating your love!

Brandon's birthday was low key too.  We did manage to sneak out on a date a few days before and it was wonderful!  We saw "Warm Bodies" which was fantastic and we ate some delicious chinese food afterwords.  Brandon even dared me to try some crab rangoons that came with our meal and I am proud to say that I tried one!  I ate it! Like, in my mouth! And I didn't even throw up!  I may have just dry heaved a little. Then we laughed about it and high fived and went on with our meal.  I despise seafood so that was quite a feet of accomplishment for me.

Anywoo....Isn't she the cutest thing ever?

I sure think so.

Dress up!

I have to say, me and Lucy are pretty good buds.  She's my little shadow and loves to follow me everywhere and wants me to be glued at the hip with her.  Which I love, but sometimes it'd be nice to get things done without her having a death grip on my leg as she tries desperately to get my attention.

Lately she's been getting into dressing up and LOVES putting my shoes on.  They're about 6 trillion sizes too big and she can barely stand in them, let alone walk, but by golly that doesn't stop her from trying!  She gets so frustrated too that the shoes don't stay on her feet.  Almost like she really thinks that they should fit her.

She doesn't have any dress up stuff yet, so we've had to be creative.  I made her this crown the other day and you'd think she was convinced it was a real crown. Jewels and all.  She loved it.

She also got some rockin' sun glasses that she has a small obsession with as well.   Every time I put them on her she makes a mad dash for my room to check herself out in the mirror.  She knows she's pretty darn cool wearing those glasses.  She reminds me of a little movie star.

Lucy-loo I just adore you!!!!  I am so glad you are part of our family!!

Pig Tails

Lucy finally has hair long enough to do pig tails!! I've been waiting since the day she was born to give her pig tails.  Her hair has finally decided to grow...well kind of, more like it's coming in in patches.  Luckily though one of those patches that are coming in is on the top of her head so perfect for pig tails.

Seriously??!! Could you die?! I just might.
She looks so grown up with them but the cuteness of it nearly kills me.

Stop that. Stop that right now. The cuteness is too much!

I  love me a pig tailed Lucy-Bug.

Merry Christmas!

SANTA CAME!

Christmas morning actually came a lot quicker than I ever remember it!  Usually it takes forever for me to fall asleep and I wake up a million times but I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow and before I knew it, it was morning!  Lucy must have had some sense about what was going on because she was up a lot earlier than her normal.  Which was good with me because I was so excited!! After Lucy had some milk and woke up for a bit we released her from her room and she knew just what to do and made a b-line straight to the presents!  She immediately say the minnie mouse kitchen and went straight for that and had a blast playing with that. We could have got her just that and she would have been happy.  Well we could have just given her a box and she would have been happy too.

We all got so spoiled and had so much fun opening gifts!  Lucy sure made a haul and loved everything she got.  She was done opening presents after a couple and just wanted to play!  She loved everything and played with all her toys for most of the day.  It was so fun and Christmas is much more fun when you have kids!  I love seeing the magic and joy through their eyes.

Can't wait for next Christmas to come around!!  I have a feeling each one is going to get more and more fun the older Lucy gets.  And I have to brag that she didn't break any of my ornaments this year!!  Not sure if I'll be able to say that next year, but they survived another year!

Christmas Eve

Oh Christmas!!!!  I can't believe you are gone!  We had a wonderful holiday though.  We invited my parents to come and spend the festivities with us and it did not disappoint   It was so awesome having them here and Lucy was on cloud 9 having people to play with her 24/7.

Christmas Eve started out early for us trying to get a lot of last minute things done like grocery shopping and last minute gifts.  We were all done though by noon so I was quite impressed with ourselves.  It SNOWED all day!! Like not just a little snow, BLIZZARD snow.  It was totally epic.  I wanted a white christmas so bad and mother nature thought she'd wait for the last minute until she granted my wish.  Which is ok because it made Christmas eve feel more special.

My mom and I made a wonderful Christmas eve feast (I really had good intentions to help and did make a few things but I totally give my mom all the credit!!!) and we ate and ate until we couldn't eat anymore. It was soooo good.  Might be one of my favorite parts of christmas, all the food!!!

We ended the evening with the opening of the traditional Christmas pajama's or in Brandon's case, a present of my choice since he doesn't like wearing pj's.

Then we sent Lucy to bed and got started on getting Christmas set up!  We had some last minute wrapping to do and then we set up Lucy's big present which was a Minnie Mouse kitchen!  There may have been a bit of some words said between Brandon and I as we tried to set it up (Brandon broke a piece within the first few seconds of touching! He's lucky though that it wasn't a relevant piece.) We got it done and watched some Christmas shows and it was off to bed.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!
