1 year stats & facts

Lucy went to the doctor the other day and is growing well and healthy! Just what we like to hear when we go in.  Her stats are:

Weight: 18.5 lbs - 9%
Height: 29.5 in - 61%
Head: Can't remember exactly, but it was in the 31%

She's still a skinny little thing, which is weird to me because she eats all. day. long.  And not just baby sized portions, but actual adult size portions it seems!  She was a trooper with her shots and was even lucky enough to get her first ever sucker afterword.  What a sticky mess it was but she loved it.

Some fun facts about Lucy that I always want to remember at 12 months:

*Still wears size 9 month clothes and even fits into a lot of her 6 month clothes.
*Is OBSESSED with dogs.  She has a stuffed puppy she takes everywhere and can't live without.
*Can say "doggy" and can bark.  Ha, every time she hears a dog barking she freaks out with excitement and barks right back.
*Loves all animals.
*Still requests to watch Mickey Mouse every other minute.
*Points at every thing and makes a monkey sound (ooh ooh ooh) at the things she wants us to see and if we aren't looking then she puts her face about an inch away from your face still making a monkey noise until you pay attention to her and what she is trying to show you.  I hope she always does this.  Even in high school.  I love it.
*Loves water and drinks lots of it,
*Starting to walk.
*Starting to play well by herself, but still pretty much follows me every where.
*Her favorite toys are her stuffed puppy, minnie mouse, and her books.
*Loves her sleep and sleeps from 8 pm to 8 am.  And she still takes 2 hour and a half naps.
*Loves her bath time.
*She's turning more into a mommy's girl lately.
*Has 2 teeth.
*Her favorite foods are mac and cheese, strawberries, spaghetti, banana bread and tortilla with cheese.
*Does not like very many veggies or mashed potatoes.
*Screams "mama mama mama mama" when she's mad about something.
*When she's sitting and is excited about something she'll rub her feet really fast on the floor. I always ask her if she's trying to start a fire.
*Starting to give kisses upon request.
*LOVES her grandma & grandpa and nana & papa.
*Has picked up on how to say "No".  That's been real fun.
*Is obsessed with anything Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Obsessed.

I'm sure there is much more but that's plenty for now!  We love our Lucy-bug!  So glad we've been able to spend this year with you!

These feet were made for walking...

We have a walker!!!  As long as it took her to crawl, I thought it'd be forever until she could walk, but she had other plans!  She surprised us one day and just started going for it.  She's still got a ways to go as far as balance and confidence, but I'd say she's doing pretty good.

Don't you love my necklace she's wearing?  I usually only have my necklaces on for a few minutes before she notices and wants to wear it.   I love it.

Minnie Mouse party

For Lucy's birthday we decided to celebrate, Minnie Mouse style of course :)  I was tickled when I found Minnie Mouse birthday decorations and even more tickled when I found out they made some for 1st birthdays.  And since Lucy has an obsession with anything Mickey and Minnie, I thought it was appropriate.

We had a family party with my parents, my SIL Kayla, Brandon's parents, his siblings and their kids.  We went to Pizza Pie cafe for lunch just because I'm pretty sure it's Lucy's favorite since she can get all you can eat spaghetti and olives :-).  After a yummy lunch we headed back to my house for cake and ice cream and presents.  She got SPOILED to say the least and seemed to love every toy she got.  She must have anyways because she's been playing non stop with everything.  Maybe she got sick of her old toys and she was just ecstatic to have something different.

We almost had a disaster with the cupcakes I ordered because apparently when you tell someone you want polka dots on your cupcakes, you need to be a little more specific or you end up with cupcakes like this:

Perhaps I said polka "dot" instead of "dots".  All I know is I laughed/almost cried when I saw them.  Not quite what I had in mind Sam's Club!!!  Don't worry though, my super mom came to the rescue and hurried to the nearest grocery store and found polka dot sprinkles and the "dot" were quickly replaced with "dots." Crisis averted.  Everything else went without a hitch and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!  Especially the birthday girl.  She loved all the attention she was getting.

Phew!  That was a lot of pictures!

We had such a fun day and I'm glad Lucy enjoyed herself! She goes to the doctor next week so I will post her stats and funny quirks about her then because this post is long enough!!
p.s. There are a few new posts below so keep scrolling.

Happy Birthday Lucy!

To my sweet Lucy,

How did you go from this:

To this:

In literally a blink of an eye?
(I thought it was appropriate to post a picture of her in her birthday suit)

Happy Birthday Lucy-bug!!!

You make our life complete in every way.

We love you!

Seven Peaks

We started out Lucy's birthday weekend bash with a trip to Seven Peaks with Brandon's family to celebrate his sisters birthday.  I'd never been before (that I knew of) and love stuff that like so I was all in.  Brandon was a little hesitant, because let's face it, it takes quite a bit to keep him entertained and he pretty much goes into most everything thinking he'll be bored so it ruins it for him. I told him to buck up and just have fun!  Which he did.  Good boy.

I was so excited to take Lucy because she loves the water and I knew she'd have a ball.  Which of course she did!  She went in the wave pool, down slides, around the lazy river (like 4 times!) and just played and played until she looked like a little shriveled raisin. I think my favorite part of the whole thing is when she tried to go down a monster sized slide without any help.  Like, "hey it's no big deal, I can't even swim yet but I can totally handle this bad boy". Good thing I had a tight grip on her hand or she would've been gone!

Brandon and I also got to go off and do some of the crazy slides and just enjoy some "us" time.  Which is ALWAYS appreciated.  We had a ton of fun and thanks to Lucy's "paint" sun block, we didn't even get burned!

Thanks to Mom and Dad Holdaway for such a fun day!  We had a blast!

Family fun

We got together with the Holdaway side of the family last weekend to celebrate our nephews baptism!  It was so fun having all of us together (there is 17 of us all together!) and enjoy time together.  After the baptism we went to the park to eat and play at the splash pad.  Lucy had the time of her life getting attention from everyone, especially her cousins because she gets played with non stop.  She was up way past her bedtime and we didn't even leave the parking lot yet when she fell asleep and slept all the way home from Salt Lake and slept in until 9:30 the next morning!  Wore her out completely.

Lucy was a little hesitant of the water at first especially since most of them were hard core spraying ones, but she warmed up to it and even ran through some of them with Brandon.  Pretty sure she was having the time of her life.

Pulling Brandon to take her down to the water.

Even though the summer has been busy for us, I've loved getting to see both our families so much this summer and letting Lucy get to spend more time with them.  She sure loves her Grandma and Grandpa Frisbey, Nana and Papa Holdaway, and all her Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  What a lucky girl to have so much family that loves her and gets to spend time with her.
