Disneyland Half Marathon

Well, it's official, I've lost my mind! haha I have agreed to run the Disneyland half marathon with my dad in just 2 short weeks. I'm quite excited/nervous about it cause I've never considered myself much of a runner, but I've been trying to become one over the last few months. Plus anyone who knows me, knows that if I were to ever run a marathon, of course it would be sponsored by Disney! Disneyland Rules! I figured I better blog about running it too cause if I blog about it that pretty much means it's set in stone right? haha My only condition was that my dad is not to leave me behind in his dust and that he needs to stay with me just in case he has to carry me across the finish line :) Ok ok, I'm sure i'm being a little over dramatic about how horrible I'm thinking it's going to be. I really am excited about it and it'll be fun to do this with my dad cause we've always talked about running in one just to say that we've done it. Plus I was reading up about it and I guess they have like entertainment/characters at every mile marker to cheer you on! How cool is that? That's worth pushing myself to make it each mile! The race is on Sept. 6th at 6:00 AM. That's right A.M.! Once again anyone who knows me knows that this is a very unknown time to me. So wish me luck cause I'm gonna need it!

Lake Powell

Every year we are lucky enough to get to have a fun filled week down in marvelous Lake Powell!! Well since this year Brandon and I are going to Germany we opted for only staying a few days so we could save up our vacation time. We went down thursday night and since it was too dark for the boat to come pick us up we decided, heck we will be cheap and just sleep in my dads truck! When we got there little did we know that there were actually multiple trailer parking lots, so we probably spent a good half hour driving around all these parking lots in the pitch black looking for my truck. I even had my dads keys and was hitting the "lock" and "unlock" button every few seconds in hopes that we would spot his truck light up. haha it was awesome. We finally found it though! It was an interesting night and let me tell you, that marina parking lot never sleeps! We heard people outside all night long. I even remember waking up and looking at my watch and it was only 3:30 am and my exact thought was "are you freaking kidding me?? It's not morning yet?!!" Finally my phone went off which meant my dad was in the boat on his way to get us! We had a blast skiing and going exploring! I love going to Lake Powell and I forget how much I love it til I'm actually there. It was hard coming back and I'm already missing it and looking forward to going next year. Thanks mom and dad for staying a day or two extra to hang out with us! I know it must've been a huge sacrifice ;)

Pretty cool shot. Early morning ski ride!!! Look at the glass smooth water! I LOVE it!

I forgot to put sunblock on my foot and it got BURNED!!! Seriously, I'm talking like 2nd degree burns here! aha

My husband is so hot

Doing awesome at cutting already!

My dad is such a stud. I'm so proud of this picture, yeah I totally took it!

My dad and Brandon hard at work deflating the tube.

These next few pictures just crack me up. We found our way into this narrow canyon and the wind was kind of blowing and it kept blowing the boat towards the canyon walls so we had to keep swimming over and trying to "pull" the boat away from hitting the wall. Yeah we sacrifice a lot for that boat. haha so here is Brandon and I hard at work making sure the boat doesn't crash into the rocks!

We really did a pretty awesome job of keeping the boat from hitting the rocks if I do say so myself.

This was a fun mini cave we found and we thought it'd be fun to swim in it. It was.

Here is Brandon being Brandon and climbing all over the place. I tried to zoom out as far as I could just to show how massive this canyon wall was! I'd say that only shows about half of how freaking tall that rock wall was! It was massive but sooo cool!!! Brandon wanted to climb all the way to the top, but I wouldn't let him. I'm such a mean wife.

So to sum it all up, Lake Powell rocks!!!

Summer fun!

This is gonna be my random post. There's no actual theme, just a look at what's been going on in our life the last little bit. To start out I want to say that I just have the cutest hubby ever!!! A few nights ago I was getting home from work when I got a text message from Brandon saying he was still at work and would probably be there for a little while longer. Ok I thought, I'll just sit and relax and wait for him to get home. But before I could even finish that thought, the door bell rang! So curious I walked over and opened the door and there was Brandon!!! He had a red rose in his hand and a cute little smirk on his face and he said something like "I'm here to pick you up for our date!" Too cute!!! I was of course ecstatic cause I love it when he does stuff like this! We went out to dinner and came home and played some Wii. It was a very fun date idea!!

A few weeks ago as well we decided we needed something random and fun to do, so we bought a puzzle! We got a Mickey Mouse one (of course) and it had like 1,000 pieces and for some reason I didn't think it would take longer than like an hour to put together. Well like a week and a half later, we finally managed to finish it! Note: the box read ages 12 and up and I swear it was harder than that! lol.

This is the finished product!!! I was quite proud of us when we finished it. Now this next picture is a close up of what the pieces look like, they're all tiny pictures of random Disney movies and once they were put together they formed the image of Mickey Mouse! Pretty cleaver if I do say so myself. I know it has some special name but I don't know what it is. Something to do with a mono--something I want to say! haha
Also I didn't have to go into work til later one morning so we decided to take advantage of the time and go out water skiing! YES! One of my favorite things! We got there and the water was glass smooth and we had an awesome time and got some amazing skii runs in. Brandon has master water skiing and has no trouble at all with it. He's pretty much amazing.

Me water skiing!!

Now this here picture is a beauty. I happen to snap this fine shot while my husband was attempting to go over the wake for the first time! I think his face says it all! I laughed and laughed when I saw this picture. Oh man, Brandon cracks me up!!!

Capt. Frisbey at the helm!

Now this, I'm not sure what I'd doing here. My guess is probably drowning.

Oh so cute!

This is another picture of Brandon going over the wake. I was so amazed by him! I remember my first few times skiing I didn't even come close to considering going over the wake! That thing scared the crap out of me. But Brandon just goes for it and does awesome!!!

Such talent. He can skii and give us a peace shot all at the same time!

We've got a Lake Powell trip coming up here next week and we should have some fun pictures and stories from that I'm sure! Until then!
