Christmas time is here!

There is something so peaceful to me about the snow. I know everyone says I'm going to grow to hate it, but for now, I like it. Nothing quite makes me happier than looking outside my window to a winter wonderland.

It's even better now since I put up my christmas tree up today. It's a pretty awesome tree if I do say so myself. It has everything from a Iron Man ornament to "I Love Lucy" ornament. And everything in between (except I just realized that I don't even have a Indiana Jones ornament and that is quite shocking to me, that's it, I better go get one.)

We just got back from a most wonderful time in St. George for Thanksgiving. It started out a little scary when we thought a blizzard was going to ruin our plans, but my work was so awesome and let whoever was traveling leave earlier so we could miss the storm and travel safe. We made it safe and sound with no bad weather whatsoever. It was a great weekend full of family, food and fun! We had dinner with my side of the family and everything was delicious! And there's nothing like being surrounded by family. It's the best! It was the first time all of my siblings had been together at once in a really long time. It was a good time and we had fun and enjoyed each others company as usual. I must say that we have a pretty rocking family. Then we went over to Brandon's parents to have dessert with his family later that night. I truly am so blessed to have such wonderful In-laws!! They are amazing people and so sweet. I love being with them and always look forward to seeing them. I love the holidays and all the time we get to spend with family! Can't wait for christmas!

We also got family pictures taken with both families. We got them taken with the Holdaway side a few weeks ago and with the Frisbey side over the Thanksgiving break. I think they look great and am really excited about them!

Holdaway's:
What a good lookin' bunch!

It was really cold that day!

Frisbey's:
Another good looking group!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Thanksgiving! I know I did!! Thanks to both of our families for housing and feeding us!

Way Behind

Now that it's almost Thanksgiving, I should probably post about Halloween. Plus it's been like a month and I'm sure all my faithful readers (you know who you 3 are) want to scream at their computer everyday that they check my blog only to find it has not been updated. Slacker, that's what I am.

First off, I want to add that I just checked the weather for next week and I praised the heavens that I'm going to be in St. George because the low for next week in Logan is going to be 2. Yeah you read that right, that was not a type-o. 2 degrees people! I thought I was going to die when it was 28 degrees a few mornings ago. I'm really starting to get nervous for winter. Don't know how I'm going to survive. If only I were a bear, then I could hibernate all winter long and I really like honey so it would just all work out.

Now to rack my brain to remember what we did for Halloween. Don't you fret though, the one thing I do remember is that we bought 3 bags of candy in hopes of not running out of candy. Guess how many trick or treaters we had? 4. Yep 4. So that means I have a huge bowl full of candy that I'm just forced to eat now. Cruel cruel world. But those 4 tricker or treaters were sure lucky. We gave them handfuls of candy! Anyways, I think we just ate pizza and watched a movie. I couldn't tell you what movie it was, honestly I'm not even sure that's what we did, but it sounds like something we would do so I'm going with it. We also carved pumpkins the night before and I must say, they turned out pretty rockin'.

We also found a cotton candy maker and my Brandon has an unhealthy obsession with it. Seriously, that kid, I never get tired of his eyes lighting up like a kid at christmas time whenever he see's cotton candy. It is a must at every carnival, fair, amusement park, wherever. Sometimes I think that's the only reason he goes. So I decided to make his millennium and let him buy it because I figured we'd probably save tons of money in the long run. I was actually quite surprised with it. I thought since we bought a cheap-o one that it wouldn't work well, but it does! It tastes just as good, if not better than the cotton candy that we usually buy. Plus it's fresh too so it makes it better!

Look at that adorable face! Seriously, have you ever seen anyone so happy about cotton candy?! I just want to squish those cheeks!!!

Beard Face!

Moving on. I also am feeling a little depressed today because this time last year we were preparing for our amazing Germany trip. Oh man, what I wouldn't give to be there again. Can't believe it's been a whole year since I was here:

I'd even climb all those 500 stairs again to the top of that cathedral. The view was amazing.

Finally, I have to post this because it's awesome. Another lesson I've learned from being married to Brandon. This is what happens when I let him set up the manger scene:

Notice anything? Let's take a closer look shall we?

Yes that is Homer Simpson driving a snow plow in the manger scene. But do you want to know the funniest thing about it? I couldn't even argue with him about it, because hey, they probably could've used a snow plow.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

Are you a good witch?

It's that time of year again for the annual Witches Night Out festivities! We had an absolute blast. We had quite a large group this year too that included me, my mom, my sister-in-law's, cousins and aunts! We partied until we couldn't party anymore then we hopped on our brooms and flew off..til next year! Oh and by the way, Misty took way too many fun pictures and I had the hardest time choosing, so lucky you, you get to view a million of them. Enjoy!

Note: My mom made her costume. She's amazing. Wish I could sew!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

I love fall

Fall in Logan is absolutely divine. I can't get over how gorgeous the leaves and all the colors are. It for sure beats all of the, uh, cactuses? cacti? down in St. George!

Brandon and I went on a hike last weekend and we got some cool shots. I think the leaves have turned colors even more in just a week! Fall rocks!!

3 years!!!

Today marks year number 3 since we've been married. Holy Cow! Who knew we'd make it this far?!! (Just kidding, that's a joke, I think pretty much everybody did) Time flies when you're having fun. It's fun to reminisce about your wedding day and all that's happened since.

So Brandon, here's to us! And many, many, many, many more years full of fun, joy and love. I still can't believe you chose me. What a perfect match. Peas and Carrots. I love you more everyday!

(Few hours later)

When I got home from work Brandon had surprised me with some BEAUTIFUL flowers (daisies...my favorite!) We then celebrated by going out to dinner for some fabulous Chinese food! I love me some chicken lo mein!! I also forgot to mention earlier that we went to Lagoon a few weekends ago for our anniversary trip. We had soooo much fun! My brother Kevin and his wife Kayla joined us and we basically destroyed the place. Not very busy=Lot's of rides=Nicole sick. I've found in my old age that I've started to get more motion sick (thanks mom!) and I can't go on the intense roller coasters 6 times in a row anymore without wanting to vomit. But it was still so much fun and we even got our favorite, cotton candy!!! I took my camera but they don't allow any loose items on the rides so I just gave up and took it back to the car. So no pictures from that. But trust me, we had fun. Anniversaries rock!!!

Wedding! I love weddings!

This past Friday my parents and I went to my cousins wedding! It was cool for Elyse and Taylor because they've been together since they were like 14 and I have all the emails from Elyse to prove it ;) The day turned out beautiful and Elyse looked stunningly beautiful, but it's not hard when you have looks like hers. I still remember sitting in Elyse's bedroom like 5 years ago counting down the years until the two of them could finally get married. Hard to believe that it's here and gone now. What a beautiful couple they make and I'm sure they're going to have kids so cute I'll barf!! Congrats!

After the festivities we headed down to St. George for the long weekend and spent a few days having some fun with mama and papa Holdaway, especially the couple of times we went over to grandpa's house to feed his goats and turkeys (Brandon tried to feed the goats a starburst but they wouldn't eat it?! Crazy goats!!) and then me and my mom got some shopping done as well and spent some time playing games with mom, dad, Rex and Misty. It was just all in all a nice weekend spent with family. We sure miss them!!

This is the only "good" picture I got of Elyse and Taylor. It's kinda hard to get a good one when there are 50 million other people trying to get pictures taken. It pretty much turned into a mosh-pit with everyone jumping in front of each other and pushing each other out of the way just to get that perfect kodak moment.

The "happy" couple. Ha ha!

I just had to throw this one in because I couldn't have captured my cousin Jess (far right) at a more precious moment. What a sweet embrace between new brother-in-laws:

I really did try to get good pictures. Don't be judgey.
Can I get a holla for that gown though?!! Gorgeous!

Welp, that's all for now!

Toodles.
