11 months old

Well the count down has officially begun.  The day I've been dreading since Lucy was born, this is her last month before she turns 1 and is no longer considered my new born baby.  How fast this year went by!!  They aren't kidding when they say your kids grow up way too fast.  Lucy is such a busy girl and is starting to get into everything!  She crawls all over and has the funniest crawl, we call it the "wounded bunny".  She crawls on her one knee and uses the foot of the other leg to push off. It might be a little crazy but it works for her! My favorite is when she get's going too fast and totally face plants it. Doesn't even phase her, she just gets right back up and starts off again.  Love her!

She is making it quite challenging to change her cute lil' behind lately.  She thinks that if she sits still for 30 seconds while I change her she's going to miss out on everything, so by the time I get her diaper off and reach for a wipe, this is what I turn back around to:

Cutest. bum. ever.

So then it's a fun little battle of chasing her down and trying to diaper her back up before she pees on my floor...or worse.

Her thing right now is to point at anything and everything she sees.  It could be a random twig on the ground and she'll point to it saying "oh oh oh" until we either walk away or let her investigate it.  We went into the Disney store in the University Mall and I thought her head was going to explode.  So much excitement she could barely contain herself (Shocking I know, she's a Disney fan).

She also picked up this sweet little move while at my parents house:

She seriously cracks me up.  She entertains us.  Indeed she does.

I also got some pretty awesome footage of her showing off her head banging dance moves the other day while we were playing.
Oh Lucy, what did we ever do before you to entertain us?  Pretty sure we just sat and stared at the walls.

As much as I dread her growing up too fast, it is so fun watching her grow and learn new things.  It's amazing to see the world through her eyes as she experiences new things and how much it fascinates her. We love you Lucy-bug!!! I really am excited to celebrate your first year of life with our families! More like celebrating the fact that your dad and I survived the first year and more importantly...so did you! We *hopefully* haven't messed you up yet!

St. George!

Brandon went to California for his autonomous submarine competition last week and while he was there, Lucy and I stayed in St. George with my parents and played all week long!!  Besides missing Brandon terribly, we had a blast!  We did everything from shopping, boating, eating, visiting, and non stop fun.  It was nice to stay for the whole week and get to see family.  Lucy loved playing with Grandma & Grandpa Frisbey's fridge magnets and had her routine down of watching the cuckoo clock, playing the piano, looking at all of my mom's Minnie mouse decorations and watching the hummingbirds. Visiting Nana and Papa Holdaway was also a huge favorite so she could chase the dogs all over.  Those dogs got a great workout every time we went over there.  Nana even taught her how to play fetch with the dogs and after they got bored of it, Lucy would just play fetch with herself. Silly girl.

We went boating for the first time in 2 years!  It was a rough summer last year when I couldn't go because of being pregnant, so I was super anxious to go this year!  And I am happy to announce that I can in fact still water ski.  I even got up on my first try! Yep you heard it hear first folks.  Lucy very much enjoyed the boat and my favorite was every time she'd see me skiing, she'd immediately recognize me and point and wave.  So cute, melted my heart.

 Future skier right here!!

As sad as it was to leave our families it was nice to come home and see Brandon again.  We already miss St. George so much and can't wait to go back!

Dinner time!

I think spaghetti night may just be my favorite meal now.  Lucy LOVES spaghetti.  Loves may even be an understatement.  She already can recognize it just from a quick glance and instantly points at it and starts grunting because she wants some.  She eats it like a champ and gets it everywhere like a champ. If there was an Olympic sport of Spaghetti eating, I'd bet my money on her to win.  Gold winner right here!  Plus cleaning her up is always a challenge too.  I usually just give up and hose her off outside.  Just kidding, who does that?!  In the tub she goes!  Which maybe that's why she likes spaghetti so much because she knows she get's a bath afterwords (she loves baths). I bet she get's that messy on purpose.  See Lucy, you think you can fool us, but we can be smart sometimes!

Fun time had by all!

Daddy's girl

Lucy is such a daddy's girl. The day we found out she was a girl I knew already she was going to like him more than me.  She's squeals with delight every time he enters the room or even just at the sound of his voice.  Am I jealous?  Little bit.

The other day Brandon brought home some flowers and brought Lucy her very own.  Talk about melting my heart.  She was in awe over it and had quite the death grip on it for quite a while.

She just got up from her nap when I snapped this picture so that's why she doesn't look super happy.

She also knows where she can find Brandon 98% of the time, which is in his man cave.  Whenever we come down to the basement within a few minutes she makes a bolt towards his room to see if he's in there.  She also loves to go on there and play with all his tools and interesting stuff that's always scattered all along the floor.

How lucky Lucy is to have such a wonderful and fun daddy!

4th of July!

Our 4th was lot's of fun this year!  We thought we were spending it with Brandon's parents but they ended up coming up a few days later so we just spent the day hanging out as a family.  I'd say Lucy's first 4th was a successful one, besides the fact that she HATED the fireworks we bought.  Not a fan at all.  Not even the sparklers!  So I guess it's a good thing we only got a few and they were the cheap ones too.  We had a BBQ in our new backyard and ended the day with some smores.  I'd say day well done.

Fun in the sun!

Lucy and I took a much needed trip down to St. George for a week to spend time with the family.  I loved every second of it!  We had so much fun shopping, hanging out, eating, shopping and more shopping!  Little Lucy was such a trooper and loved tagging along everywhere we went.  We even hit up Vegas one day and she did so great!  Didn't have one melt down the whole 5 hours we were shopping.  She just loved being there hanging out with Grandma and mom.

We took her to the splash pad in St. George and I was a little hesitant because I wasn't sure if she would like it or not. Boy was I wrong!  She LOVED it.  I may or may not have been slightly proud watching her running through the water like it was no big deal.  Takes after her mom when it comes to love for swimming!  These are the only pictures I took the whole week we were down there, but I think they're good ones!

All tuckered out after playing in the water

I LOVE this picture because she NEVER snuggles with me and NEVER sleeps on my shoulder like that.  I was in heaven.

I am so excited to go down again in a few weeks for another week while Brandon is in California for his school competition.  Can't wait to go back!!  Thanks mom and dad for putting up with Lucy and I!!
