Geo-Cashing

We took another adventure only this time it was geo-cashing! We took out our fourwheelers with our trusty GPS and set off to find whatever we could! We decided to start with the farthest geo cash and just work our way back to the car once we found that one. After a fun drive on a really neat trail, we found ourselves on top of this huge mountain that over looks everything it seems. We could even see the freeway that passes through the gorge! It was awesome! Lucky enough for us, the geo cash we were looking for just happen to be right off the edge of the huge drop off on some little overhang that just so happened to be there. So much to my dislike, Brandon and I ventured on out there and we found it. We didn't even fall to our deaths. (which was the best part!) We had a blast going on our "treasure hunts" and though it was a little cold and windy, it turned out to be a very fun adventure!!

This was the huge drop off that we got to hike to the very edge of! Yeah..it was high

Shooting

For the big 3 day weekend we decided to start it off with a day of shooting! We had a "blast" (lame, I know!) It was fun to try out all of Brandon's different guns, since he has about 9 total! I liked shooting the shot gun at the clay pigeons the best, mainly because everytime I fire it kicks me back like 2 feet! haha, it was fun. We had fun shooting at clay pigeons, bottle cans, and whatever misc stuff we could find out there. Good times, good times.

My sexy husband!

This one demonstrates what happened the first time I fired the gun, falling back and screaming!

My awesome mom taking a shot

Then another picture of me after taking a shot, if you look close you can see the shock shoved my glasses off my face!

Ode to Hurricane

I work at a credit union. And until this week, I have been driving from Santa Clara to Hurricane EVERYDAY to go to work (Syd I know you're rolling your eyes right now cause you do the same) It is a long, dull, boring drive. I can only have a conversation with myself for so long before I get sick of me. Then the wonderful, yet sad, day came when I was told those magical words "We're transfering you to St. George" WOOHOO, YES, FANTASTIC!!!! That was my reaction inside and then came the sadness when I realized I would have to leave my dear friends at hurricane (and by dear friends, I mean my co-workers, NOT the members) So to commemorate (spelling?) my time there, I would like to write about my favorite things that happened there.
Sorry this will probably not make any sense to any one but Syd & Lenzi (my 2 most favoritest people!)

Ode to Hurricane

*Ode to the members who yelled at me for asking for their identification so I could verify who they were.
Example: I've had my account here for 30 years why do you need to see my ID?!!!!!! (well sir I haven't worked here for 30 years, nor have I been alive for that long!!!)

*Ode to Shannon, dear Shannon, who's comments to members never failed to embarrass me or made me want to hid under my cubical.
Example: "My you sure have got a lot of gray in your hair now!"
"Sorry I couldn't tell if you were a man or woman so I didn't dare say "sir or ma'am" (True story)

*Ode to Java. Oh Java, how I hate you.

*Ode to TR, who's bluntness to members always left me in shock.
Example: (speaking to a member) "We've always had the slip for you to fill out but people in Hurricane don't do it."

*Ode to the members who felt they were above the rules.
Example: "I need to make a withdrawal" "Ok, for cash back I need you to fill out one of the slips for me" "No I will not!!" "........"

*Ode to the member who always annoyed the crap out of me.
Example: "I need cash out of my account. My account number is the same one as last time, you should have it posted there on your computer." (EVERYTIME!!! No matter how much I tried to avoid asking him his account number he still said that exact same thing!!!)

*Ode to the members who just sent in their checks without any directions written on them. I'm not a mind reader!!!

*Ode to the Hurricane cops, who really have nothing better to do.
exapmle: Dear Syd got pulled over after being followed by a hurricane cop for like 5 miles. The cop declared to her that her license plate cover was just too dark. ???????? She just laughed at him, as would I.

*Another Ode to Shannon, for always questioning EVERYTHING!
Example: "What? Why are you giving him $20.00??! He usually gets $10.00!! Sir, excuse me sir, are you sure you want $20.00 instead of $10.00?!"

Those are just a few of the wonderful things that I will miss out on now. But I probably won't miss them...

White Christmas!!!

Well I never thought I'd see the day where St. George would get a white christmas! Sure enough we got one this year! I was so excited and quoted "this is so cool!" at least 50 times during our christmas eve festivities! We Went over to my parents house for dinner and games and headed over to Brandon's parents house and visited with them for a little bit. It was funny cause they live about 5 minutes away from us and all they got for christmas was rain! We then came home and crawled into bed and sure enough the next morning Santa Claus had come to our home! After being awaken by my dear sweet husband at 6:15 (way too early for me) we opened our presents and had some breakfast. We even squeezed in some time to build a snowman!! We then stopped by Brandon's parents and my parents to exchange gifts. We spent most of the day over with the Holdaways eating yummy food and playing their new Wii! What an awesome Christmas it turned out to be!!!

My Best Friends Wedding

On friday one of my dearest friends Sara got married! It was so fun to be able to attend and to help out on her special day. The weather was absolutely perfect and it was fun to still have lots of snow on the ground. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted, but everything turned out just beautiful. Her reception was amazing and her cake was the coolest!!! I'm so happy for Sara and hope the best for her and Dane!!!

Winter Wonderland

One of my favorite things ever is when it snows in St. George!!! And over the past couple of days, it surely did snow..A LOT!!! I loved every second of it (well, except for when I had to drive home in it from work all the way from Hurricane!) And what are you supposed to do when it snows? Build a Snowman!!!! That's exactly what Brandon and I did! After searching high and low for snow gear that we don't have (ha) we finally found brandon's snow gear and he was so sweet to let me wear it (awww...) I looked pretty dang hot in it too. All I could think of was the little brother in the movie "A Christmas Story" I was a giant marshmellow who "couldn't put my arms down!" Sadly I didn't snap a picture of my lovely outfit. Sad Story. Then Brandon decided he'd just wear pants and a sweater, and after about 3.5 seconds of playing in the snow with bare hands, he decided he needed gloves. So once again we searched, but the only thing we could come up with was rubber yellow cleaning gloves!!!! HA! It was hot.
